Public Insurance Options:
To be eligible for Connecticut Medicaid or other public health insurance programs, you must be a resident of the state of Connecticut in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation would be characterized as low-income. The specific program you may qualify for is also determined by additional factors such as disability status and dependent children.

Options to Apply or Check for Eligibility:

Households and individuals who wish to apply for or renew health coverage for children (HUSKY A & B); parents with dependent children (HUSKY A); caretakers/guardians of minor children (HUSKY A); pregnant women (HUSKY A); and adults under 65 without dependent children (HUSKY D), can apply online at www.accesshealthct.com or call 1-855-805-HEALTH (4325).

Households and individuals who are over 65 and older, blind or with disability and wish to apply for or renew Medicaid (HUSKY C) or Medicaid for Employees with Disabilities (MED-Connect) can apply online at www.connect.ct.gov or call 1-855-626-6632.

Private Insurance Options:
If Dental Insurance is not available through your employer or you are interested in shopping for alternative plans, there are several options available.

You can enroll during the Open Enrollment Period that begins November 1, or during a Special Enrollment Period if you have a Qualifying Life Event.
