Marty Milkovic, Executive Director

Born in Waterbury, Marty Milkovic is a long-time Connecticut resident who has worked to improve people’s lives for over 25 years.  “When you look at your life it’s easy to see that the important things are when you made a difference in the lives of others.” he said. “If you can say that your spouse, children, family, and community are all better because of your involvement, then there is nothing more you can ask.”

Before joining COHI, Marty worked as a consultant to non-profit organizations offering strategic management, fundraising and information technology services.  Marty is the former President and CEO of the United Way of Connecticut, the state association of 24 local United Ways, and has almost twenty years experience as a United Way leader, serving as CEO in Bristol and Danbury.  A graduate of the University of Connecticut, from which he received a BA and an MSW, he is also an adjunct faculty member of its graduate School of Social Work. Marty is the former President of the Ohio Youth Services Network and has held a variety of leadership positions throughout his career.

Currently a resident of Coventry, Marty lives with his wife of thirty years, Elizabeth Bauer, who is Finance Director of the Town of Coventry.  They have two adult children.
