| Only Two Weeks Left . . . ACT NOW |
With only two weeks left in the legislative
session we must act now to make sure that
HUSKY dental rates are raised. We can
stop the suffering and make sure that the
tragic death of a Maryland boy on Medicaid
doesn't happen in Connecticut.
The issue is complex, but in the short time
left we need to boil the message down to
these bullet points:
- Thank you. We are grateful that
$20M to increase HUSKY dental rates is
included in the Appropriations Committee
proposed budget.
- These funds, applied to increased HUSKY
dental rates, will get thousands of kids
the critical oral health care they need,
reducing pain and suffering.
- More poor children will receive care
since more dentists will be able to
participate in HUSKY because they will be
able to cover their out-of-pocket costs.
- More preventative dental care will
reduce costs over time by reducing the
need for expensive emergency and restorative
care.
- Please keep $20M in the budget to
raise HUSKY dental rates. It is just enough
to make a difference.
Use these points to contact the Governor,
reinforce the support of key legislators and
to write letters to the editor of our daily
newspapers.

the HUSKY dental reimbursement
in the budget.

In the current negotiations on the
State's upcoming budget, it is critical that
our Governor hear from supporters of raising
HUSKY dental reimbursement rates.
While she did not include an increase in her
original budget proposal, she and her staff
are negotiating with key democratic
legislators, whose proposed budget does
include $20M for an increase in HUSKY dental
rates.
In the give-and-take of the negotiation over
the next two weeks, we need to make sure that
the increase stays 'on the table' and is
included in the final compromise budget.
Please call and e-mail the Governor and ask
her to keep the $20M in the budget to raise
HUSKY dental rates and to stop the
suffering.
Call her office at
860-566-4840 or
800-406-1527
or
e-mail the Governor by clicking here.
